Born Dec. 10, 1961, in Cumberland, he was the son of Wilbert Floyd Gordon Sr. and Hilda (Robertson) Gordon.
Mr. Gordon retired from the Army Special Forces after serving in the Army from 1981 to 2001. He was a highly decorated veteran which include:

Junior was a loving devoted son, father, husband and brother. What he enjoyed the most was family, nature, woodworking and outdoor sports. Junior was a 1979 graduate of Allegany High School, where he was an outstanding wrestler and where he later returned to coach wrestling.
Surviving are his wife, Wendy Gordon; daughter, Ashley Christina Gordon; one son, Brett Haley Gordon and special friend Kelly LaVigne; special pet, his lab, Lucy; grandmother, Flossie (Brown) Robertson; sister, Roxanne Saxberg and husband Scott; brothers, Victor Gordon and wife Eva and Tim Gordon and wife Becky; father and mother-in-law, David Wagler and Iva Norton; sister-in-law, Crickett and husband Jamie; brother-in-law, Beezer and wife Sonya; nephews, Jeremy, Josh, Austin, Wayde, Luke, Connor, Waylon and nieces, Danielle, Jillian, Jocelyn, Emily, Audrey and Abigail.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in Hyndman Ministry Center on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Stevie Leydig officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Walker, Joshua Walker, Craig Campbell, Bobby Smith, J.R. Gordon and Scott Saxberg.
Military honors will be accorded by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to be made to Wounded Warriors.
