This Association Runs on Volunteers. We Need a Few Good Ones.
Here's something a lot of folks don't realize: USADA is 100% run by volunteers. Every reunion, every newsletter, every page on this website, every reconnected brother — all of it is the work of members who decided to step up. Nobody's getting paid. We're doing it because this community is worth it.
And we need more hands.
We're actively looking to fill several roles, and we want to be straight about what they are:
Officers and Board Members at Large — the people who help steer the Association, set direction, and keep this thing moving. Two-year terms, real voice, real influence on where USADA goes next.
Media Manager — own our social media and outreach across LinkedIn, Facebook, and beyond. If you know how to tell a story and run a content calendar, this one's high-impact and high-visibility.
Web help — folks comfortable working on the website to keep it sharp and current.
Reunion organizers for 2028 — without someone willing to be boots on the ground at the location, a reunion is nearly impossible to run. We've gotten good at spreading that load so it doesn't crush one person. If you've got a great location in mind and the willingness to help lead, we want to hear from you.
Now, let's talk about what's in it for you — because there's no shame in that. Serving on a nonprofit board or running communications for an organization like this is legitimate leadership experience. It's a line on a résumé and a talking point in an interview. It's governance, budgeting, project management, and stakeholder communication — the exact skills employers and promotion boards look for. Plenty of people pay good money for that kind of development. Here, you earn it by giving back to your own community.
You already know how to operate in a team that depends on every member pulling their weight. That's the whole job. The diving was the hard part — this is just showing up for each other on dry land.
If you've thought about getting more involved — or if you know a member who'd be a natural fit — let us know. And if you've served on the board before and have someone in mind, talk to them first, then send us their name.
Ready to step up? Reach out and let's talk about where you'd fit.
